Terms of Service
These terms explain how you may use the Compair AI website and platform. Please read them together with our Privacy Policy and Data Transparency Statement.
1. About these terms
1.1 These terms are an agreement between Compair AI Limited (Compair AI, we, us, our) and you. Company number: 16732731. Registered office: 205 Wollstonecraft Street, London, N1C 4BT, United Kingdom.
1.2 By using compairai.com or the Compair AI platform (together, the Services) you agree to these terms. If you use the Services on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to accept these terms for it.
2. The Services
2.1 Compair AI provides standardised data, benchmarking and analytics on UK local authority commercial activity, built from publicly available information, including information published by public bodies and disclosures made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.
3. Accounts
3.1 You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.
3.2 Information you give us when creating an account must be accurate and kept up to date.
4. Acceptable use
4.1 You must not use the Services unlawfully, attempt to breach their security, or interfere with their operation.
4.2 You must not scrape, bulk-extract, resell or republish the datasets or outputs of the Services without our written permission.
4.3 You must not present insights from the Services in a way that misrepresents them or implies they are statements made by Compair AI.
5. Subscriptions and payment
5.1 Paid features are provided under the plan or order agreed with you. Fees are exclusive of VAT unless stated otherwise.
5.2 Trial or demonstration access may be limited, changed or withdrawn at any time.
6. Data and accuracy
6.1 Our datasets are built from public sources. We take care to standardise and check them, but we cannot guarantee they are complete, current or error-free.
6.2 The Services provide information, not professional advice. You should verify material facts before making decisions based on them.
7. Intellectual property
7.1 The Services, including our software, standardised datasets and insights, belong to Compair AI or our licensors. We grant you a limited, non-transferable licence to use outputs for your own internal purposes.
8. Privacy
8.1 How we handle personal data is described in our Privacy Policy and, for public-sector post holders, our Data Transparency Statement.
9. Availability and changes
9.1 We aim to keep the Services available and performing well, but availability is not guaranteed and maintenance may cause interruptions. We may improve or modify features over time.
10. Liability
10.1 Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, including liability for fraud.
10.2 Otherwise, our total liability arising from the Services in any 12-month period is limited to the fees you paid us in that period, and we are not liable for indirect losses or for decisions taken in reliance on the data.
11. Termination
11.1 Either party may end a subscription in line with its agreed terms. We may suspend or end access for a serious breach of these terms.
12. Changes to these terms
12.1 We may update these terms from time to time. We will note the date above and, for material changes, take reasonable steps to tell you. Continued use of the Services means you accept the updated terms.
13. Governing law
13.1 These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
