Compair AI standardises the published spending of England’s councils into one dataset, so every council, supplier, journalist and resident can finally see how it compares.
“I spent years building this standard of insight inside banks. Councils deserve the same.” Jordan, Founder
Every council publishes. None of it matches.
England’s councils spend over £100 billion a year with suppliers, and by law they publish it, line by line, above £500. But it lands in hundreds of formats that don’t match. Suppliers can’t see where to win work, residents can’t see where rising council tax goes, and councils can’t tell if there’s a better way.
We taught machines to read all of it.
Our machine learning has read 58 million invoice lines from 307 of England’s 317 councils, covering more than 400,000 suppliers. Every transaction is classified the same way, scored for confidence, checked by our data experts, and weighed fairly, so like is compared with like. No more apples and pears.
One dataset, four lenses.
On top sits the platform: benchmarks for councils, opportunities for suppliers, scrutiny for journalists, and straight answers for residents on where our council tax is going. Public data, turned into public insight, for the people who pay for it.
Meet the team
Our team brings leading commercial data and analytics experience into local government, building tools shaped by council realities.

Jordan
Founder & CEO
Jordan has led data and technology transformations in government commercial teams, investment banks (HSBC, Goldman Sachs) and global brands. He founded Compair AI in 2025 on this simple conviction: the local government that serves our communities deserves the same standard of insight as the world’s leading investment banks.

Nasir
Data Quality Engineer
Nasir leads data quality and extraction, from Freedom of Information requests to the clean, comparable dataset behind Compair AI. With over fifteen years in data engineering, he has led data quality programmes funded by the United Nations and the European Commission.

Omer
Machine Learning Scientist
Omer leads the research and refinement of our proprietary machine learning models: the foundation Compair AI is built on. These models standardise millions of council invoices and surface patterns humans would miss.

Muttahar
Frontend Developer
Muttahar shapes how Compair looks and feels: a clean, fast interface that makes analysing council data effortless. With a background in UI and UX design, he has built interfaces for companies like IKEA.

Jesse
Research & Operations
Jesse supports research and operations, always on the lookout for the newest tools, trends and ideas in data and AI. He tests them against real council questions before they go anywhere near the platform.
